Lifestyle > Gordon Ramsay, won over by amarenas
It’s impossible to deny that his angry outbursts on the reality show “Hell’s Kitchen” and the talent show “Master Chef” are truly legendary. But behind that rather irreverent, or at least exuberant manner, Gordon Ramsay, the award-winning British chef, must have a tender heart. Or at least a sweet one. At the tables of his very elegant New York restaurant, “Gordon Ramsay at the London”, the top quality culinary experience is enhanced by the sweet creations of pastry chef Ron Paprocki featuring delicacies such as pure pistachio and Fabbri amarena. All of this takes place under the watchful eyes of executive chef Markus Glocker, accompanied by excellent service from Restaurant Manager Mrs Biddle.
Gordon Ramsay is a former soccer player who played for Glasgow Rangers, before his career ended following a serious injury. He then turned his attention to cooking, working first in France with Guy Savoy and Joel Robuchon. At the age of 32 he opened his first restaurant in London’s glamorous Chelsea neighborhood, which was awarded three Michelin stars in just two years (Ramsay has won a grand total of 12 Michelin stars during his career so far). His restaurants can be found all over the world, from Dubai to Tokyo to New York, Florida, Ireland, Prague, Paris and even two in Italy. One is in the heart of the Chianti region, in Castel Monastero, where guests can enjoy amazing dishes, relax in the spa or do cookery courses, and the other is in the beautiful setting of the Forte Village in Sardinia, a few kilometers from Cagliari. But hurry up and book, as waiting lists can be really long!
In the meantime, you can find out more about his great talents by visiting your local bookstore, where you are sure to find a wide selection of recipe books by Gordon Ramsay.
